Credo Partners invests in Sicra: A New Chapter in Nordic IT Security
Sicra, a well-known and recognised player in IT security, network, and infrastructure in the Nordic region, is taking a big step forward in its growth. Founded in 2016, Sicra has built a solid reputation, but to expand further, they’ve sought a partner with the resources and expertise to help them scale. Credo Partners has now come on board, investing growth capital and acquiring a 51% stake in the company.

With Credo’s investment, Sicra plans to strengthen its organization and expand its services to meet the growing security demands of mid-sized and large companies. Stig Valderhaug, CEO of Sicra, says that the decision to partner with Credo came after careful consideration. “Over the years we’ve had over 30 offers from various companies wanting to buy or invest in Sicra, but it was easy to turn down most of them. Credo’s approach was different—they understood that our culture and expertise were our greatest strengths, and they recognized the same growth potential we see in the market,” Valderhaug explains.

Both Sicra and Credo Partners see great potential in the cybersecurity market. Pål Prydz, partner at Credo, highlights that Sicra is uniquely positioned to address the increasing demand for secure and efficient IT solutions. "Sicra solves complex challenges faster than their competitors, offering solutions that clients truly need while maintaining a high standard of technology and service delivery. We see a strong value proposition here, one that more clients should experience," says Prydz.

“Stig’s leadership and company philosophy have created a gravitational pull for top talent, which in turn drives exceptional customer experiences and sustainable growth.”

To support this growth, Sicra plans to hire more senior consultants and technical experts while expanding its administrative capacity. This will allow the company to scale its services and deliver on the increasing demand for cybersecurity solutions. Valderhaug stresses that despite the push for growth, Sicra’s culture will remain central to the business. “When we started Sicra, our goal was to create an outstanding workplace for ourselves and those who joined us. We’ve succeeded in building an environment where our experts thrive and develop professionally. Our culture is the foundation of our success, and preserving that is essential for achieving our ambitious goals,” says Valderhaug.

Credo Partners is fully aligned with this philosophy, and Prydz emphasizes the importance of maintaining the company’s strong culture. “Stig’s leadership and company philosophy have created a gravitational pull for top talent, which in turn drives exceptional customer experiences and sustainable growth. We’re excited to be a part of this journey and look forward to what lies ahead,” Prydz adds. As Sicra moves into its next phase, the partnership with Credo promises both financial growth and a commitment to maintaining its core values: high-quality service, a strong workplace culture, and a dedication to meeting the evolving cybersecurity needs of their clients.
